A new scientific explanation of magic


Atheists used to deny the existence of magic as they believe that man couldn’t see non real things, but did science prove the existence of magic? ……

New scientific study

Scientists say they have pinpointed the brain region involved in a curious phenomenon called "change blindness". Most of us know what it is like to look at something but fail to see the obvious, such as a traffic light turning green.

UK researchers at University College London, along with US colleagues from Princeton University, have located the brain's parietal cortex as key.

There has been increasing evidence from brain scan studies to suggest that awareness of what we see is not only down to the part of the brain that processes visual information - the visual cortex - but also other brain regions.

Professor Nilli Lavie and colleagues at UCL focused on an area called the parietal cortex, which is involved with concentration.

Using a process called Trans cranial magnetic stimulation, which delivers currents to the brain; they were able to temporarily switch off the parietal cortex in nine healthy volunteers. When they did this, the volunteers failed to notice big changes in visual scenes, such as when one of four faces on a video screen was replaced by another face.

The exact critical spot in the parietal cortex lies just a few centimeters above and behind the right ear - the area many people scratch when concentration.

The researchers believe their findings explain change blindness, a phenomenon often exploited by magicians.

Professor Lavie said: "The finding that this region of the brain has these functions, concentration and visual awareness, explains why we can be so easily deceived by, say, a magicians' trick.

"When we're concentrating so hard on something that our processing capacity is at its limits, the parietal cortex is not available to pay attention to new things and even dramatic changes can go unnoticed.

"If you're concentrating on what the magician's left hand is doing, you won't notice what the right hand is doing." Said Lavie

Medical Research Council scientist Dr John Duncan said: "Doubtless, many other parts of the brain are involved."

He said findings such as these might help shed light on medical conditions that can affect a person's perception and attention.

For example, brain damage due to stroke can sometimes mean the individual will completely ignore one side of their body.

Scientists say don’t always believe what you see

Also, researchers at Ohio State University say that People can easily be swayed into believing that they have seen something they never actually did see.

According to a study, Participants looked at a series of slides portraying geometric shapes. They were later shown a second set of test slides – two of the test slides contained images from the original group of slides, two contained images that were obviously not part of the original set, and one slide contained the lure image – a shape very similar to all of those shown in the original slide set, but one that wasn't actually part of the original set.

"False memories can be created using visual stimuli with minimal ******** input," Beversdorf said. "The question now is whether this can be done entirely without the use of semantics."

Participants correctly identified the shapes they had seen in the original slides 80 percent of the time. But more often than not – nearly 60 percent of the time – the subjects said that they had indeed seen the lure image in the original group of shapes, even though it hadn't been there.

"This suggests that visual false memories can be induced pretty easily," said David Beversdorf, the study's lead author and an assistant professor of neurology at Ohio State University. "While using context helps us to remember things, it can also throw us off."

Researchers know a good deal about the false memory effect as it applies to ********.

"People are susceptible to verbal false memories, whether it's something that was actually said or an ****** they have a mental description of," Beversdorf said. "We wanted to know if the ability to induce false memories extends beyond the ******** system – if it also affects the visual system, even when the images aren’t easily verbalized. It appears that the ability to create false memories does extend beyond ********."

Scientists use the Functional magnetic resonance imaging device to observe the activities of the cerebral cortex during false memory activity as they discovered that some areas in brain became out of order when we concentrate on a specific image so that we can see unreal things and some events may happen while we don’t see. Here we can make a scientific explanation of how magic occurs.

The study included 23 young adults with no history of mental impairment. Participants were shown 24 sets of 12 slides. Each set of slides portrayed different geometric shapes, which varied in number, size, position, shape and color. After studying each group of slides, the participants were shown an additional five slides and asked if they had seen any of the shapes on these additional slides in the original set.

For example, participants were shown a set of 12 slides each showing yellow triangles. Each slide showed one, two or three large or small triangles; multiple triangles were arranged either vertically or horizontally. In this case, the lure slide – part of the five additional test slides – showed two small yellow triangles lined up horizontally below a large yellow triangle. But while it looked similar to slides in the original group, it wasn't part of the initial set.

Participants accurately identified the images they had seen in the original set 80 percent of the time. They also correctly identified the images that obviously weren't part of the original set of shapes more than 98 percent of the time. But they incorrectly said they had seen the lure images 60 percent of the time.

Brain’s electromagnetic waves affect computers

A team of US researchers has shown that controlling devices with the brain is a step closer. Four people, two of them partly paralyzed wheelchair users, successfully moved a computer cursor while wearing a cap with 64 electrodes.

The research has shown that monkeys can ******* a computer with electrodes implanted into their brain.

"The results show that people can learn to use scalp-recorded electroencephalogram rhythms to ******* rapid and accurate movement of a cursor in two directions," said Jonathan Wolpaw and Dennis McFarlane.

The research team, from New York State Department of Health and State University of New York in Albany, said the research was another step towards people controlling wheelchairs or other electronic devices by thought.

The four people faced a large video screen wearing a special cap which meant no surgery or implantation was needed.

During the experiment, Brain activity produces electrical signals that can be read by electrodes. Complex algorithms then translate those signals into instructions to direct the computer.

Researchers say that such brain activity does not require the use of any nerves or muscles, so people with stroke or spinal cord injuries could use the cap effectively.

"The impressive non-invasive multidimensional ******* achieved in the present study suggests that a non-invasive brain ******* interface could support clinically useful operation of a robotic arm, a motorized wheelchair or a neuro prosthesis," said the researchers.

Scientific measures proved that human’s brain disseminate electromagnetic waves continually and it differs from time to time and from person to another and these waves affects other people (their brains and hearts)

This phenomenon can explain how the envy occurs.

The four volunteers also showed that they could get better at controlling the cursor the more times they tried.

Although the two partially-paralyzed people performed better overall, the researchers said this could be because their brains were more used to adapting or that they were simply more motivated.

Magic between Qur’an and science

When we read these studies we can see that brain can be swayed and also the eye can see things that didn’t happen and don’t see things happened which is exactly what is magic.

Qur’an gave us a precise explanation of magic as it is just a deception of the eye, Allah Almighty tells us in the story of Moses with the magicians of the pharaoh as He Almighty says: (They said: "O Musa (Moses)! So when they threw, they bewitched the eyes of the people, and struck terror into them, and they displayed a great magic.){Sûrat Al-A‘râf - The Heights (or The Walls with Elevations)-verse115-116}.

Also there is another kind of magic when magicians intend to separate between the spouses as He Almighty says: (They followed what the Shayâtîn (devils) gave out (falsely of the magic) in the lifetime of Sulaimân (Solomon). Sulaimân did not disbelieve, but the Shayâtîn (devils) disbelieved, teaching men magic and such things that came down at Babylon to the two angels, Hârût and Mârût, but neither of these two (angels) taught anyone (such things) till they had said, "We are only for trial, so disbelieve not (by learning this magic from us)." And from these (angels) people learn that by which they cause separation between man and his wife, but they could not thus harm anyone except by Allâh’s Leave. And they learn that which harms them and profits them not. And indeed they knew that the buyers of it (magic) would have no share in the Hereafter. And how bad indeed was that for which they sold their own selves, if they but knew){Sûrat AlBaqarah -The Cow-verse102 ]. This kind of magic is the most powerful kinds as the only successful treatment is to reading Qur’an and continuing prayer. Hence Allah Almighty tells the Satan the following: (Certainly, you shall have no authority over my slaves, except those who follow you of the Ghawin (Mushrikun and those who go astray, criminals, polytheists, and evil-doers, etc.).){Sûrat A-Hijr - The Rocky Tract –verse42}.

In the previous study we found that man can ******* things by the power of emitted electromagnetic waves. So, we see that it can be a good clarification of what is known by envy which may hurt others.

But the believer can protect himself from harmful waves by reading Qur’an especially the holly verse: ( but they could not thus harm anyone except by Allâh’s Leave){Sûrat Al-Baqarah - The Cow-verse102},when the believer read this verse with understanding its meaning it shall reprogram his brain which may protect him from any harmful waves.

Magic is a reality and many prophets were affected by magic and one of them is Moses, Allah Almighty says They said (magicians):"O Musa (Moses)! Either you throw first or we be the first to throw?"* [Musa (Moses)] said: "Nay, throw you (first)!" Then behold, their ropes and their sticks, by their magic, appeared to him as though they moved fast.* So Musa (Moses) conceived a fear in himself.* we (Allah) said: "Fear not! Surely, you will have the upper hand.* "And throw that which is in your right hand! It will swallow up that which they have made. That which they have made is only a magician's trick, and the magician will never be successful, no matter whatever amount (of skill) he may attain.* so the magicians fell down prostrate. They said: "We believe in the Lord of Harun (Aaron) and Musa (Moses)."){Sûrat Tâ-Hâ -verse65-70}.

Also, we have to remember what happened with prophet Ayub and Allah Almighty tells his story: (And remember our slave Ayub (Job), when he invoked his Lord (saying): "Verily! Shaitan (Satan) has touched me with distress (by losing my health) and torment (by losing my wealth)!){ Sûrat Sâd-verse41}, hence Allah Almighty accepted his supplication and He Almighty said: (And (remember) Ayub (Job), when he cried to his Lord: "Verily, distress has seized me, and You are the Most Merciful of all those who show mercy."* So we answered his call, and we removed the distress that was on him, and we restored his family to him (that he had lost), and the like thereof along with them, as a mercy from ourselves and a Reminder for all who worship us.)

Here we have to understand and believe that disease, magic, envy and decreasing in money are only some kind of afflictions by Allah Almighty for the believer to test the strength of his and her belief. Prophet Mohamed peace be upon him exposed to magic and many other afflictions as Allah Almighty says: (Say (O Muhammad ): "I possess no power of benefit or hurt to myself except as Allah wills. If I had the knowledge of the Ghaib (unseen), I should have secured for myself an abundance of wealth, and no evil should have touched me. I am but a warner, and a bringer of glad tidings unto people who believe) .){Sûrat Al-A‘râf - The Heights- the Walls with Elevations-verse188}.

All of the above is to prove that Qur’an doesn’t contradict with recent science and also to prove that it was descended from Allah Almighty.

Marriage is an affection and mercy

According to a major international study held by University of Otago across 15 countries and 34,493 people, researchers found that getting married is positive for the mental health of both men and women, resulting in reduced risks of the likelihood of most mental disorders such as depression, anxiety and substance abuse.

The study led by clinical psychologist Dr Kate Scott from the University of Otago Wellington is based on the WHO World Mental Health (WMH) surveys across developing and developed countries in the past decade. This world first study has been recently published in the UK journal Psychological Medicine.

“We found that compared to never getting married, getting married is good for both men and women in terms of most mental health disorders.” Kate said.

Dr Kate Scott says about the study” One of the more important findings is that in recent years it has been asserted that marriage is better for men than for women in terms of mental health. This study does not agree with that position.”

Also she added : “But what makes this investigation unique and more robust is the sample is so large and across so many countries and the fact that we have data not only on depression, which has been much studied in the past, but also on anxiety and substance use disorders. In addition we were able to look at what happens to mental health in marriage, both in comparison with never getting married, and with ending marriage.”

However the study did find that men are less likely to become depressed in their first marriage than women. The study comments that this may be linked to traditional gender roles in the home. Dr Scott says significant gender role differences in the home can have an effect on mental health problems for married women.

On the downside, the University of Otago, Wellington’s new study shows that ending marriage can increase the risk of mental health problems. Being previously married (i.e. being separated, divorced, and widowed) is associated with increased risk of all mental health disorders in both men and women; particularly with depression in men and substance abuse (drugs and alcohol) in women.

“What our study points to is that the marital relationship offers a lot of mental health benefits for both men and women, and that the distress and disruption associated with ending marriage can make people vulnerable to developing mental disorders”. Said Kate

Glory to Allah who told us 1400 years ago about the many benefits of marriage as He Almighty says: (And among His Signs is this, that He created for you wives from among yourselves, that you may find repose in them, and He has put between you affection and mercy. Verily, in that are indeed signs for a people who reflect.){ Sûrat Ar-Rûm - The Romans -verse21}.

Here we have to draw your attention to an important point that all rules of Islam are applicable for all people so that prophet Mohamed peace be upon him make it very clear as he says to Osman ibn Afan(one of the companions) about importance of marriage “O’ Osman I didn’t get an order to monasticism ” [Right series].

But Islam allowed spouses to divorce if the life between both of them became impossible but He Almighty ordered Muslims to resort to divorce in the last phase after many tries between both sides to keep marriage as He Almighty says: (If you fear a breach between them twain (the man and his wife), appoint (two) arbitrators, one from his family and the other from her's; if they both wish for peace, Allah will cause their reconciliation. Indeed Allah is Ever All-Knower, Well-Acquainted with all things.){Sûrat An-Nisâ’- The Women –verse 35} and that because marriage is the original situation but divorce is the exception and that indeed because the many problems resulted from divorce as all recent scientists and researchers say.

Scientists say that marriage is the perfect system

According to recent researches and studies, Psychologists and scientists confirm that marriage is the normal human behavior and any other behavior such as homosexuality, refusal of marriage, adultery, and illegal relations are abnormal behaviors.

Divorce or the death of a spouse severely damages a man or woman's long-term health even if they remarry, researchers say.

Also they confirm that the impact of these life-changing events continues to have a detrimental impact on physical well-being years later.

According to a recent study researchers show that the divorced or widowed have 20 per cent more chronic health conditions such as heart disease, diabetes or cancer than married people. They also have 23 per cent more mobility problems including trouble climbing stairs or walking short distances.

But the study reveals that finding another partner does not nurse them back to health.

The study illustrate that those who have remarried still have 12 per cent more chronic conditions and 19 per cent more mobility problems than those who have been continuously married.

It is believed that the health of the divorced or widowed suffers because incomes drop and intense stress and unhappiness develops over issues such as childcare and finances.

Scientists believe that damage caused from this extreme stress to the cardiovascular or immune system, for example, remains even years later when the person is happy again.

Researchers at the University of Chicago and Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, studied 8,652 people aged 51 to 61. Three-quarters were currently married with 55 per cent continuously married and 20 per cent remarried.

Another 22 per cent had been previously married and of these, 69 per cent had separated or divorced and 31 per cent widowed. Less than 4 per cent of all those studied had never been married.

The average age at marriage among those who had divorced or been widowed was 21. They had spent on average 25 years married and 9.5 years in a divorced, separated or widowed state.

Researchers examined people's health in terms of the number of chronic conditions they suffered such as diabetes, heart disease, lung disease, cancer or a stroke and their levels of mobility.

They had been assessed for depressive symptoms and were asked to rate their own health as excellent, very good, good, fair or poor.

The study found that remarried and previously married people both showed 'significantly worse' health than the continuously married in all aspects studied. People who never married had 12 per cent more mobility problems and 13 per cent more depressive symptoms than those with a spouse.

Professor Linda Waite, a sociologist at the University of Chicago who co-authored the study, said the loss of a spouse or going through divorce can cause enormous stress for months or years which damage the circulatory system.

Professor Linda Waite also said: 'Stress affects your immune system and leads to increased inflammation. We're now thinking that inflammation is at the route of cardiovascular disease and certain kinds of cancer.

Dr waite draw attention of people to the importance of marriage by saying “What I argue, and in my view, the research evidence supports, is that marriage itself changes people's choices and when their choices change, their behavior changes, which results in greater health.”.

Here we have to mention that statistics triggers a warning as it illustrate that more than 42 per cent of British marriages end in divorce.

Hence we have to understand why marriage is the original situation but divorce is the exception.

Marriage yield healthy people

Married people are healthier than other adults, though husbands have a tendency to pack on some extra pounds, says the American National Center for Health Statistics according to a survey of more than 125,000 people.

Health statistician Charlotte Schoenborn said that there are two major theories:

One is that marriage may be protective of health. For example married couples may have advantages in terms of economic resources, social and psychological support and encouragement of healthful lifestyles.

A second possibility is marital selection, "the theory that healthy people get married and stay married, whereas less healthy people either do not marry or are more likely to become separated, divorced or widowed."

The center reported that among adults 18 and over, 11.9 percent said they were in only fair or poor health.

Some 10.5 percent of married people reported being in poor or fair health, while all other groups were higher. At 19.6 percent, the widowed were the most likely to be in these categories.

"In general, married adults were the least likely to experience health problems and the least likely to engage in risky health behaviors, with the notable exception of being overweight," Schoenborn wrote.

The report was based on a survey of 127,545 people in 1999-2002 conducted by the center, a part of the federal Centers for Disease ******* and Prevention.

In addition to reporting better health overall, the study found that married people said they had less low back pain, fewer headaches and less psychological stress. They also were less likely to drink and smoke and were more physically active than people in general.

However, they're not immune to weight problems. Currently more than half of all adults are overweight or obese — 56.7 percent — the center said.

“People are waiting longer to marry now, and living with a domestic partner outside of marriage has become more common” Schoenborn noted.

"For most negative health indicators, adults living with a partner had higher rates than married adults: they were more likely to be in fair or poor health, to have some type of limitation of activity for health reasons and to have experienced low back pain and headaches ... and serious psychological distress," Schoenborn reported.

The report found that married people were least likely to light up a smoke, at 18.8 percent, compared with 22.9 percent for all adults. The most likely to smoke were those living with an unmarried partner, 38.4 percent, and divorced and separated people, 34.7 percent.

Some 4.7 percent of adults reported they had become heavier drinkers than previously, with the lowest rate among marrieds at 3.7 percent. Again, those living with an unmarried partner had the largest share reporting more drinking, 8.2 percent, followed by the divorced and separated, 6.4 percent.

Also a recent study was held by Professor Dario Maestripieri in Comparative Human Development at the University of Chicago confirm that marriage is good of the health of people.

"These results suggest that single and unpaired individuals are more responsive to psychological stress than married individuals, a finding consistent with a growing body of evidence showing that marriage and social support can buffer against stress," said Maestripieri

Dario Maestripieri has a Ph.D. in Psychobiology from the University of Rome (1992) and is currently a Professor of Comparative Human Development, Evolutionary Biology, and Neurobiology at the University of Chicago.

The team of researchers from the University of Chicago and Northwestern University studied 500 masters' degree students at the University Of Chicago Booth School Of Business. About 40 percent of the men and 53 percent of the women were married or in relationships. The group included 348 men with a mean age of 29 and 153 women with a mean age of 27.

The students were asked to play a series of computer games that tested economic behaviors, and saliva samples were taken before and after to measure hormone levels and changes.

Each student was told that the test was a course requirement, and it would impact their future career placement. That made the test a potentially stressful experience that could affect levels of cortisol, known as the stress hormone.

The researchers found cortisol concentrations increased in all participants, but that females experienced a higher average increase than males. The exercise also decreased testosterone in male subjects, but not in females, a stress effect previously observed in humans and animals.

But a piece of personal information collected before the test provided another interesting difference within the subjects. "We found that unpaired individuals of both sexes had higher cortisol levels than married individuals," Maestripieri said.

"Although marriage can be pretty stressful, it should make it easier for people to handle other stressors in their lives," Maestripieri said. "What we found is that marriage has a dampening effect on cortisol responses to psychological stress, and that is very new." Added Maestripieri.

Marriage was created since the first day of creation as Allah Almighty says: (And We said: "O Adam! Dwell you and your wife in the Paradise and eat both of you freely with pleasure and delight){Sûrat Al-Baqarah- The Cow –verse35}, here we find that Allah Almighty told Adam to dwell in paradise not with his girlfriend or with his boyfriend or even alone but He Almighty told him to be with his wife.

Sociologists and scientists confirm that existence of a wife with a husband is considered to be a dampening factor to reduce frustration and stress around husband and also they confirm that married man is more creative than unmarried.

As two University of Kansas researchers are studying why women who choose careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics advance as young professors, scientists or educators but then disappear from the profession.

Karen Multon, professor and chair of the Department of Psychology and Research in Education in KU's School of Education, and Barbara Kerr, Distinguished Professor of Counseling Psychology, are researching how a woman's relationship with a significant other may impact her career choices

"It's not just your boyfriend or husband, it's also family concerns and how you're going to handle all of that at once, in a field that is so demanding," said Multon.

Kerr points out that married male scientists are found to be the most productive scientists, followed by single male scientists. Single women come in at third-most productive, followed by married female scientists.

"So marriage is a benefit to male scientists but not to female scientists," Kerr said.

Consequences of violating Allah’s nature

Scientists, community leaders, and policymakers across the world are admitting that strong marriages are the key to improving social and personal well-being. Increasingly, research is showing that children in married families are healthier, perform better in school, live in poverty less frequently, and are involved in crime or other destructive behaviors less often. But as marriages fail, social problems and social spending to deal with those problems increase.

Let us make a tour to find out what is happening as a consequence of being away from marriage and the consequence of the broken relation between spouses:

1. European figures

According to the council of Europe website the latest figures for prevalence of violence against women suggests that one-fifth to one-quarter of all women have experienced physical violence at least once during their adult lives, and more than one-tenth have suffered sexual violence involving the use of force. Secondary data analysis supports an estimate that about 12% to 15% of all women have been in a relationship of domestic abuse after the age of 16.

Many more continue to suffer physical and sexual violence from former partners even after the break-up.

2. American figures

The American figures about violence Against Women are terrifying as the following:

In 2005, of all the women murdered in the U.S., about one-third were killed by an intimate partner.

According to the National Center for Injury Prevention and *******, women experience about 4.8 million intimate partner-related physical assaults and rapes every year. Less than 20 percent of battered women sought medical treatment following an injury.

According to the National Crime Victimization Survey, which includes crimes that were not reported to the police, 232,960 women in the U.S. were raped or sexually assaulted in 2006. That's more than 600 women every day. A significant number of crimes are never even reported for reasons that include the victim's feeling that nothing can or will be done and the personal nature of the incident.

Young women, low-income women and some minorities are disproportionately victims of domestic violence and rape. Women ages 20-24 are at greatest risk of nonfatal domestic violence, and women age 24 and under suffer from the highest rates of rape. The Justice Department estimates that one in five women will experience rape or attempted rape during their college years, and that less than five percent of these rapes will be reported.

According to the Family Violence Prevention Fund, "growing up in a violent home may be a terrifying and traumatic experience that can affect every aspect of a child's life, growth and development. . . . Children who have been exposed to family violence suffer symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder, such as bed-wetting or nightmares, and were at greater risk than their peers of having allergies, asthma, gastrointestinal problems, headaches and flu." In addition, women who experience physical abuse as children are at a greater risk of victimization as adults, and men have a far greater (more than double) likelihood of perpetrating abuse.

The Centers for Disease ******* estimates that the cost of domestic violence in 2003 was more than $8.3 billion. This cost includes medical care, mental health services, and lost productivity.

Every 9 seconds a woman is physically abused by her husband.

 95% of assaults on spouses or ex-spouses are committed by men against women.

 30% of women presenting with injuries to the emergency department had injuries caused by battering.

From 7% to 26% of pregnant women are abused.

Pregnancy is a risk factor. Several studies indicate a range of incidence from 17% to 26% of pregnant women

But we have to take into consideration that all of these figures are in only one country and the numbers around the world would be terrifying.

3. World figures

Around the world there is a high prevalence rate of homosexual men and women as the following:

Number of homosexuals in Australia is 1.2% of adults identify as homosexual or lesbian.

In Canada .3% of men and 0.7% of women considered themselves homosexual.

In United Kingdom one adult in 100 is a homosexual, according to new figures.

Statistics for Sweden show 0.55% of couples are same-*** and in Norway 0.68%.

Scientists and physicians confirm that this kind of relations is not fruitful and lasts only for no more than 3 years.

Also the problem is not limited only for numbers of homosexual but extends to its consequences as AIDS is a main cause by this forbidden kind of relationship.

4. Adultery and AIDS

In a report published by CNN, researchers announced that AIDS rate of incidence is increasing day after day. Despite the billions being paid, they failed to find an effective treatment for this disease until now. The Center for Disease ******* and prevention CDC said that there are more infections of Human Immunodeficiency Viruses (HIV) between Americans with rates higher than what used to be thought. Keeve Vinton, Manger of AIDS Dept. at the center, had pointed out that about 56 thousand new cases were recorded last year, which means 40% increase over previous estimations.

The center stated that there is likely a possibility of recording 40 thousand new cases annually; however, estimates depended on limited data and less precise means.

In Africa there are 25 million person infected by AIDS from total of 40 million in the entire world. Infection spreads in Africa through sexual relations between man and woman.

When we read these figures we should remember the holy verse as Allah Almighty order believers to be away from unlawful relations by saying: (Tell the believing men to lower their gaze (from looking at forbidden things), and protect their private parts (from illegal sexual acts, etc.). That is purer for them. Verily, Allah is All-Aware of what they do.)[Sûrat An-Nûr- The Light-verse30].

5. Raping and marriage

Non-marriage is considered to be the main reason behind the phenomenon of Raping as the most recent figures about raping in one country are as following:

• 1 out of every 6 American women has been the victim of an attempted or completed rape in her lifetime (14.8% completed rape; 2.8% attempted rape).

• 17.7 million American women have been victims of attempted or completed rape.

• 9 of every 10 rape victims were female in 2003.

• While about 80% of all victims are white, minorities are somewhat more likely to be attacked.

Also in many western counties there a special phone line to enable raped women and girls to declare about a rape accident as there are many people who don’t inform the official authorities about what happen to them. There are many clinics to treat the psychological effects of rape and there are many curriculums in universities explaining ways of treating the dangerous psychological effects of rape.

A study in 2005 had confirmed that most of rape accidents are caused by relatives and friends of the raped woman (National Crime Victimization Survey, 2005) and most of these accidents happen in the house of a friend or relative.

So that people who are away from their God and His acts are living in hardship in the world and in hereafter they will face a harmful torture because of adultery and being away from beliefs and instructions of Allah Almighty. So that in hereafter guilty men and women will lose their sight and they will be blind, Allah says But whosoever turns away from My Reminder (i.e. neither believes in this Qur'an nor acts on its teachings.) verily, for him is a life of hardship, and we shall raise him up blind on the Day of Resurrection* He will say: "O my Lord! Why have you raised me up blind, while I had sight (before)* (Allah) will say: "Like this: Our signs came unto you, but you disregarded them (i.e. you left them, did not think deeply in them, and you turned away from them), and so this Day, you will be neglected (in the Hell-fire, away from Allah’s Mercy)* And thus do We requite him who transgresses beyond bounds [i.e. commits the great sins and disobeys his Lord (Allah) and believes not in His Messengers, and His revealed Books, like this Qur’an], and believes not in the proofs of his Lord; and the torment of the Hereafter is far more severe and more lasting) (Sûrat Taha - verse 124-127).

It is worth mentioning that consequences of raping are destructive not only on who has been raped but on the entire community.

Children and sexual assault

Recent figures about practicing sexual activities against children state that 15% of sexual assault and rape victims are under age 12 and 29% are between age 12-17 where44% are under age 18.Also figures states that 80% are under age 30.Also researchers say that girls ages 16-19 are 4 times more likely than the general population to be victims of rape, attempted rape, or sexual assault and 7% of girls in grades 5-8 and 12% of girls in grades 9-12 said they had been sexually abused. Statistics illustrate that nearly 30% of child victims were between the age of 4 and 7.

-7 Illegitimate children

In United States, number of births which are resulted from illegitimate marriage had increased to be 37 %( statistics in 2004).we have to mention that phenomenon of illegitimate children in western countries is accepted from both men and women.

A published study on the website of the BBC stated that number of illegitimate children in Britain is 12% in 1998 and it increased to be 42% in 2004 (Office for National Statistics) . In western European countries ratio of illegitimate children (sons of adultery) is 33% (the annual ONS' Social Trends report).

Statistics say that ratio of men who lives with illegitimate wives is 24% and ratio of women who lives with illegitimate husbands is 25% (ONS, 2004).

The above graph is to represent ratio of illegitimate children in some European countries, in Sweden it is 55% in 2004 and in Spain it is 22% in 2003. Therefore, from every 100 newborn babies there are from 22 to 55 illegitimate babies, don’t you see that it is an indication for the imminent collapsing of the western civilization (BBC).

Supplication to facilitate marriage

Dear my sisters and brothers, all of us ask God to grant him or her good wife and a good husband, but we have to admit that all countries are facing problem of marriage delay.

After many years of researches I found that dependence on God is the shortest way to facilitate marriage as we have to be satisfied with our destiny and to know that God is the one who knows the best for us and we don’t know the best for ourselves. And we have to make things easier for ourselves so that God will facilitate everything for us.

One of the most effective methods to facilitate marriage is to ask Allah seven times with the supplication of prophet Zakaria, God says in Qur’an "O My Lord Leave me not single (childless), though you are the Best of the inheritors.) (Sûrat Al-Anbiyâ’ - verse 89) and to read (Sûrat Al-Ikhlâs) many times also to read And among His Signs is that He created for you wives from among yourselves, that you may find repose in them, and He has put between you affection and mercy. Verily, in that are indeed signs for a people who reflect) (Sûrat Al Rum - verse 21). Also read the first verse in Quran (Sûrat Al-Fâtihah) seven times.

My brothers in God

These information and statistics are not just for reading but to look attentively at a sign of God which is marriage. Allah puts repose and mercy between couples. When we read the results of the new researches about the physiological stability of married people, therefore we have to realize the meaning behind the following verse that you may find repose in them) and to supplicate by the supplication of believers which is (And those who say: "Our Lord! Bestow on us from our wives and our offspring the comfort of our eyes, and make us leaders of the God-fearing people) (Sûrat Al Forkan - verse 74).

A scientific study: Enhancing income by marriage

Researchers say that marriage increase income and that is against the wrong thoughts of people who believe that marriage and children leads to losing money and poverty. Also, those researchers believe that marriage offers important social and economic benefits. Children who grow up with married parents generally enjoy a higher standard of living than those living in single-parent households. Two parents are usually better than one not only because they can bring home two paychecks, but also because they can share responsibilities for child care. Marriage often leads to higher levels of paternal involvement than divorce, non-marriage, or cohabitation.

Researchers say that Marriage Boosts Income so they advise people to marry and get children to live a happy life

Daniel Lichter of Ohio State University puts it this way: "Marriage can be a pathway from poverty, but only if women are 'marriageable,' stay married, and marry well."

Dr. Daniel T. Lichter is the Ferris family professor in the Department of Policy Analysis and Management, and Professor of Sociology.

A study published in the Journal of Sociology and conducted by Ohio State University researcher Jay Zagorsky found that “married individuals have almost double the net worth of those that are divorced [or] single” with wealth being defined “by such factors as home value, stocks, cash, and savings vehicles.”

But if poor single mothers married the fathers of their children, nearly two-thirds could escape poverty immediately.

Public Policy Institute of California examined the importance of changes over the last several decades in family structure and the relationships among family structure, childbearing, employment and poverty. They stated in the study that Child Poverty has grown Since the 1960s and that increase is due to changes in family structure that push poverty higher due to decline in marriage, growth in non-marital births then children are more likely to be raised in single-parent families as in the graphs below:

US researchers from Indiana University analyzed data on 3.8m people diagnosed with cancer between 1973 and 2004.They found people who were married had a 63% chance of surviving five years, compared to 45% of people who were separated, the journal Cancer reported.

Many have found a beneficial effect with experts suggesting the love and support of a partner is essential in battling against illness.

This theory is supported by the findings of the latest study. researchers looked at five and 10-year survival rates for married, widowed, divorced and never-married patients as well as those going through a separation at the time of diagnosis.

After marriage, never-married patients had the best outcomes, followed by those who had been divorced and then widowers.

Lead researcher Dr Gwen Sprehn said: "Patients who are going through separation at the time of diagnosis may be a particularly vulnerable population for whom intervention could be prioritized.

"Identification of relationship-related stress at time of diagnosis could lead to early interventions which might favorably impact survival." Added Sprehn.

New discovered benefits for early marriage

A new research shows that children born to older fathers tend to have lower intelligence.

Professor John McGrath from the Queensland Brain Institute at the University of Queensland, says the study found children at the ages of four and seven, with older dads, performed a little worse on cognitive tests.

"The offspring of dads who are about aged 50 are scoring about two IQ points less than offspring of fathers who are about 20," he said

.

Professor McGrath says it makes sense that children of more educated and stable women do better, but it is not clear why that does not apply to the kids of older fathers.

"It's a very small effect but when we ******* for things like the mother and father's education, and the mother and father's socio-economic status, this link between paternal age and how the children are going is still there," he said.

We have to remember the prophetic advice as prophet Mohamed tells us from 1400 years the following advice “whoever is able to marry , he or she must do”[narrated by Al-Bukhari]”.

Another study held by the Danish University of Aarhus concluded the same result.

The Danish study, one of the largest of its kind, adds to the evidence that biological clocks can be a crucial factor for both men and women when it comes to having children.

The researchers warned: 'The risks of older fatherhood can be very profound and it is not something that people are always aware of.'

The University of Aarhus study tracked the health of more than 100,000 first-borns for up to the first 18 years of their lives.

During that time 831 died, with the majority of deaths in the first year after birth.

Analysis found a clear link between cause of death and the father's age, with children of teenage fathers and of over-45s up to 88 per cent more likely to die than those born to men aged between 25 and 29.

What should we learn from all of these studies?

There are many lessons that we should learn from these studies as following:

1. People should believe that marriage has many benefits and it is not just a way to empty human’s libido.

2. Keeping away from marriage is against human nature because Allah Almighty the creator of all creatures and His prophet orders us to marry because of the many benefits of marriage.

3. Atheists and disbelievers were totally wrong when they assumed that marriage is a personal choice and people may choose another kind of relations instead of marriage such as homosexuality.

4. Allah Almighty wanted us to reach all recent scientific conclusions about the importance of marriage without going through all of these kinds of bad experiences such as homosexuality, adultery, Aids, violence, etc………….

5. Also prophet Mohamed peace be upon him advise us to marry to be a good follower for him be saying: “I am the most one who know Allah and I am the most one who is afraid from Allah but I fast and eat, sleep and pray at night and marry women so anyone who don’t do like me is not following me”.[reported as a right hadith by Al-ALBANY]

6. Western countries are used to advice people to delay marriage after forty, but now they are calling people to marry as young as possible because of the many benefits for human and community.

7. All of the above prove that religion of Islam is not calling for underdevelopment but the problem is that human didn’t understand these orders. Allah Almighty says: (And whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted of him, and in the Hereafter he will be one of the losers){Sûrat Al-Imrân - The Family of Imran –verse85}.

Cockroaches and Antibiotics




Glory to Allah Almighty who exploited these cockroaches for our benefit, let us to contemplate …

According to a new research scientists have found that the central nervous systems of American cockroaches produce natural antibiotics that can kill off bacteria andthey reported that they found the same bacteria-killing molecules in a two species of locust. The findings suggest that the “insect world” which makes up 80 percent of all animals on Earth” may be teeming with new antibiotics.

The study co-author Simon Lee of the University of Nottingham in the U.K say”It's a promising new lead. We are looking in an unusual place, and to my knowledge no one else is looking there". "That's what we need in terms of finding new antibiotics, because all the usual places (such as soil microbes, fungi, and purely synthetic molecules) have been exhausted." Lee Added

The team tested nine separate types of antibacterial molecules found in the insects' brains and discovered that each molecule is specialized to kill a different type of bacteria.“This very clever defense mechanism allows the bugs to survive in the dirtiest of domains” Lee said.

Scientists say that insect-brain drugs for humans are still years away and they claim that cockroaches could one day save our life.

Ants Bridges building : a wonderful example of sacrifice and cooperation

Every time, when doubtful people try to laugh at this Qur’an and give example, Allah devotes someone to discover its miracles and wonders facing the atheists saying. Disbelievers have mooched since Qur’an revelation that the Prophet Mohamed (Peace Be Upon Him) is mentioning insects such as ‘’ant’’ in his book!

Glorified be Allah! Some doubtful repeat the same saying today, that the Qur’an is full of legends and they give example that Muhamed gives souras insects’ names. But Allah the Almighty says: ‘’ and Allah will never grant (Literally: make) any way for the disbelievers over the believers.’’(Surat An-Nisa (Women): 141). So, he who meditates scientists’ discoveries will notice that they are confused, they are astonished in front of this small creature that is the ant.

Scientists say the ant’s brain weight is a hundredth gram, whereas the whale’s one is hundred thousand more than the ant’s. However, the ant accomplishes more intelligent tasks and works than this big whale! This reality wonders and confuses the scientists, but if they just think and read Allah’s Book, they will find that Allah is the Creator of this ant, He has taught it and guided it to the straightway. Allah said about Himself: ‘’The Ever-Innovating of the heavens and the earth-however does He have a child, and He has no female companion, and He created everything, and He is Ever-Knowing of everything? That is Allah, your Lord, there is no god except He, the Creator of everything. So worship Him; and He is an Ever-Trusted Trustee over everything. Beholdings (i.e., eyesights) cannot perceive Him, and He perceives be holdings and He is The Ever-Kind, The Ever-Cognizant.’’, (Al-Anaam (The Cattle) 101-103).

Every day, the scientists declare that the insects’ world, especially the ant one is a very complicated thing, it’s cannot be logical to say that the ant has developed itself alone, because its limited brain can’t treat all these information when doing its tasks. In this picture, we see the ant head and its small brain inside, it contains over 300000 neurons. A man brain contains more than trillion cells, i.e. hundreds of thousands times more than the ant one. Although this small brain, it can treat all necessary information that the ant needs to accomplish its tasks showing that this brain has been programmed.

Scientists observed the ant’s world for longtime, in the beginning, they thought that it’s a limited world that can neither think nor understand nor communicate! However, it has finally been shown that the ants are a nation as we are, they have their laws, their life, their intelligence. It has been shown that the ant building architecture is older than the man one, it has been building houses since millions years. Scientists have recently discovered the bridges building in the ant world.

According to a Reuters site study, the way that the ant adopts to cross holes is to build ant bridges! Two British researchers mentioned that the ants group sacrifice themselves when facing holes to save the others. Some lie inside these irregular holes to make more equal route for the others.

These researchers found that a type of ants living in the Central and South America chose some ants from the group that have adequate body sizes to fit the holes. They said in a report published in ‘’Animal Behavior’’ journal that more ants may unite together to fill bigger hole!

See this living bridge, how some ants sacrificed for the others. Scientists say that the ants building the bridge by their bodies suffer a lot when the other ants pass across, but they endure and resist like a real bridge that the other ant can pass by!

Scott Powell and Nigel Franks from Bristol university studied Eciton burchellii that walk in the Central and South Americ forests in group of 200000 ants! This group is in constant contact with the ants’ nest by a very long line ants. But this long line of living ants can be hardly disturbed when the others pass on the leaves and branches spread on the forests ground.

In this picture, we see how they take each other to build a solid bridge on which the ants can pass to the other side. The scientists that studied this phenomenon confirm that the ant chose with care the appropriate sizes to sacrifice in building this bridge!

A small number of ants fill the holes build to obtain a coherent road. Scientists say: the ants have their own way to redress the roads. Powell said: when the traffic eventually diminishes, the ant that forms this motionless plug will pop out of the hole and run home. Broadly, our research demonstrates that a simple but highly specialised behavior performed by a minority of ant workers can improve the performance of the majority, resulting in a clear benefit for the society as a whole.

From researches about ants’ neurology done in Boston university, the researcher James Traniello says: this complicated ants’ behavior is programmed, so each one can first know what it has to do. The small ant has limited tasks according to its size, but the youth and strong one are defenders and food processors and accomplish other difficult tasks. Whereas, the old ant is retired and the others take care of it!

Franks and Powell did laboratory experiences to show this behavior. Franks said, we put inserted wooden planks, drilled with a variety of different sized holes, into the army ants' trails to see how their sizes can fit the holes’. Indeed, the ants did well, they chose the appropriate way to build the bridge. This way astonished the scientists so they asked; how did the ant learn this technique to build, whereas people have to work hard and do complicated architectural calculations to do so?

Dr. Scott Powell says when the ants face holes and can’t cross; they chose some ants that have the adequate size to fit the hole. The chosen ant sacrifices itself, endures and builds the living bridge by its body so that the other ants pass on! They experience several times before to build the bridge, they must find the size and the strength that can bear the ants on the back!

Researchers working on this say the ants sacrifice small number of ants to build this bridge, but they win a lot when they guarantee the road to thousands ants. The ants do this social act voluntarily and with pleasure, each one hastens to try its size whether it is appropriate to this living surface or not!

Glorified be Allah! This is solidarity and compassion within ants’ world, so what about people?! The greatest Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) demonstrated to us the believer case when confirming that the believers are like the building well done in terms of mutual aid and sacrifice. The ants aid each other and sacrifice to live, haven’t we to aid each other and sacrifice for Allah (Supremely Blessed is Allah)?!

This ant bridge building architecture is a very sophisticated technique and with no expense but little sacrifice and mutual aid. The scientists wonder the big energy that the ant provides when building the living surface, they also wonder its endurance and big programmed effort so they confirm the ant is very intelligent and loves too much the other ants. Here, I would stop for awhile to recall the greatest beloved Prophet saying: " None of you will have faith till he wishes for his (Muslim) brother what he likes for himself’’. Look how does the ant apply the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) word, what about us Believers pretending loving this compassionate Prophet and applying his instructions?

We always remember in such context the divine proof that demonstrated that the ants and other creatures are nations as we are. Allah the almighty says: ‘’And in no way is there a beast (moving) in the earth nor a bird flying with its two wings except that they are nations like you. Finally, we wish that any atheist read or see these discoveries to explain to us the ants world secret, who teaches them these wonderful techniques, we answer first: It is Allah the Almighty, He who said on His Prophet Moses (Peace Be Upon Him) tongue in his conversation with Pharaoh: ‘’He (Firaawn) (Pharaoh) said, “Who then is the Lord of both of you, O Mûsa?” (Moses). Compassion among animals

We see the greatness of the creator in every photo around us, let us read….

The above photo was published by the German website "DW-WORLD.DE" for a pair of polar bears in Erlebniswelt zoo in Gelsenkirchen, Germany.

"It was the first time Polar bears Bill and Lara met ", said the German website and they added that the introduction took place on Friday April, 19, 2009.

Bill, right came from a Bruenn, Czech Republic and Lara, now as a friend and it looks like the beginning of a true polar bear romance.

This photo shows how mercy and compassion are in animals the same as in human. Here we must remember the divine statement in the Qur'an: (There is not a moving (living) creature on earth, nor a bird that flies with its two wings, but are communities like you. We have neglected nothing in the Book, then unto their Lord they (all) shall be gathered.)(Sûrat Al-An’âm -verse38).

Also we have to remember the mercy of Allah which is indeed more than the mercy between human or between animals.

Mercy is a part of the way of the prophet (peace be upon him) as He almighty called the prophet "kind, and merciful ".

These two characteristics are only in Allah and His prophet, He almighty says: (Verily, there has come unto you a Messenger (Muhammad) from amongst yourselves (i.e. whom you know well). It grieves him that you should receive any injury or difficulty. He (Muhammad) is anxious over you (to be rightly guided, to repent to Allah, and beg Him to pardon and forgive your sins in order that you may enter Paradise and be saved from the punishment of the Hell-fire); for the believers (he is) full of pity, kind, and merciful.*But if they turn away, say (O Muhammad): "Allah is sufficient for me. Lâ ilâha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He) in Him I put my trust and He is the Lord of the Mighty Throne.")(Sûrat At-Taubah-verse128-129).

Dragonflies Use Movement as Camouflage

Scientists are astonished from the amazing camouflage of that little insect when attacking its victim ….

A dragonfly is a type of insect belonging to the order Odonata.It is characterized by large multifaceted eyes, two pairs of strong transparent wings, and an elongated body. Even though dragonflies possess 6 legs like any other insect, they are not capable of walking.

Dragonflies are valuable predators that eat mosquitoes, and other small insects like flies, bees, ants, and butterflies. They are usually found around lakes, ponds, streams and wetlands because their larvae, known as "nymphs", are aquatic.

In a published research by prof. Aikiko Mezuhtani of the Center for Visual Science at the Australian National University in Canberra, there was a proof that dragonfly male is professional in camouflaging when moving as it deludes the eye of the victim so that it see it stable while attacking.

The amazing design of wings and body enable the insect to make unlimited maneuvers while flying so that it can attack the victim so easily.

Scientists say that dragonflies use movement for their camouflage, Camouflage is usually associated with immobility as it occupies the same spot in the retina of the victim. So that the victim sees it stable when it is moving, scientists say that this technique is complicated and very strange.

The dragonfly uses fast, complicated and unseen movement to attack the victim.

Prof. Mezuhtani and the team used stereoscopic cameras to reconstruct the movements of the insect in three dimensions. After a long study they discovered that this insect can arrange its wings and body during flying to make the victim see it as if it is stable.

Most animals can skillfully conceal themselves when stationary, but they may become apparent as soon as they move. The dragonfly uses another technique and without that it may die by hunger, but Allah almighty taught that insect a unique technique to catch its victims.

Scientists say that the brain of the dragonfly is so small in comparison with the volume of the executed complicated arithmetic operations which produce that fast movement in the three directions.

The eye covers the entire head and without that perfect design dragonfly wouldn’t be able to live and get its food.

Nature inspired human for many inventions, but the abilities of the dragonfly are more advanced than any other superior invention.

Scientists say that till now they don't know how that insect had got these abilities to perform such complicated technique as the executed motions are amazing, also they say that it would be impossible for that insect to learn itself and without the help of anyone. So who taught it that technique, nature or coincidence?

Look at this amazing design of wings, human can’t mimic it by using the latest technology methods. Who did create that perfect design, nature or the insect itself? Atheists must answer that question otherwise they should believe that Allah almighty is the only creator or they should tell us, who is the creator?

After all of the above we must realize our weakness in comparison with that little insect. But we may find some people who claim that nature created this wonderful insect!!! Allah says: (Or do they assign to Allah partners who created the like of His creation, so that the creation (which they made and His creation) seemed alike to them?" Say: "Allah is the Creator of all things; and He is the One, the Irresistible.)(Sûrat Ar-Ra‘d- verse 16).

We can only say what Allah says in the Holy Qur'an: (This is the creation of Allah. So show me that which those (whom you worship) besides Him have created. Nay, the Zâlimûn(polytheists, wrongdoers and those who do not believe in the Oneness of Allah) are in plain error.)(Sûrat Luqmân-verse 11)

Insects and plant pollination

Recent researches indicate that wild bees distribute pollen across different types of cropland.….

"The finding is considered to be an economic implication for farmers in performing crop pollination" says Claire Kremen , Assistant Professor in the Department of Environmental Science, Policy and Management-University of California.

"Pollination is an incredibly important ecological function," Kremen said. Bees function as pollinators because, as they feed on flower after flower, they unintentionally shuttle grains of pollen from one plant to the next. Without bees to do that lifting, many common North American plants—including numerous economically important crops—would go unfertilized and would be unable to reproduce, she said.

The research considered two important factors: How much natural habitat existed near the farm, and whether the farm relied on organic or conventional cultivating techniques.

California’s almond crop alone depends on about half the bees in United States, about 1.5 million colonies! The bees pollinate in the almond groves for about six weeks, and then are sent on to work other crops.

Scientists say that now the almond crop and many others could be in trouble with so many bees dying, Glory to Allah!!!!

The question is: who taught those little insects to do such job, coincidence, nature or the creator of nature and everything?

Allah almighty say: (Glorify the name of thy Guardian-Lord Most High*who hath created, and further, given order and proportion *who hath ordained laws. And granted guidance*and who bring out the (green and luscious) pasture) (Sûrat Al-Alâ -verse 1-4).
